I just moved here from North Carolina, I gotta job and now I need a car. I noticed an ad on the bulletin board at work for a 1999 Honda Civic. It was reasonably priced at $1500 and Civics run pretty good and are good on gas. I decided to check it out. I met the lady at her house where the car was and test drove it. It drove fine and I wanted it. After she got the emissions done on it I went ahead and bought it from her. Well, I drove the car for about 2 weeks when the check engine light came on. I took the car into a shop. The mechanic suggested that I call cash for junk cars Decatur or it would be $800 to fix some sensors. They must of thought I was stupid. I know it doesn't cost that much to repair a sensor. That was just the beginning of my problems. Next thing you know my temperature gauge starts to move up. Yep, you guessed it started to overheat. I didn't want to take it back to that shop or any shop in Decatur. If I was back home I could take it to my usual mechanic and get a fair price. I decided to call my mechanic. He coached me in changing a couple of sensors but the last one was just too hard to get too. He said I'd have to take it to a shop but should only take them about 10 minutes to change the sensor. He said it was overheating because of the thermostat. He told me what tools to buy and again coached me in changing the thermostat. Now its not overheating but the check engine light is still on and its making a loud noise when it runs. I decided to let it sit for a while until I could figure out how to get all this stuff fixed. A few days later I went into the garage to try and start it and it wouldn't crank up. Ok, I've had enough I want to get rid of this car. I pulled up google on my phone and typed in cash for junk cars Decatur.
